Silver Alloys

Silver alloys can have a range of properties depending on the specific metals used and their proportions, such as hardness, ductility, corrosion resistance, and colour. They are used in a wide range of applications, including jewellery, silverware, electronics, dental fillings, and medical devices.

Gold Price

The price of gold is subject to constant fluctuations due to various factors such as supply and demand, global economic conditions, geopolitical tensions, and currency fluctuations. It is typically quoted in U.S. dollars per troy ounce. You can find the current gold price on financial news websites or by contacting a reputable precious metals dealer like Cape Precious Metals(CPM).

Platinum

Platinum is a precious metal that is known for its durability, resistance to tarnishing, and lustrous white appearance. It is rarer and more expensive than gold and is often used in high-end jewelry, watchmaking, and investment. Platinum is also used in various industrial applications due to its resistance to corrosion and high melting point.

Gold

Gold is a precious metal that is highly valued for its rarity, beauty, and durability. It is commonly used in jewellery, coinage, and investment, among other applications. There are several different types of gold that are used for various purposes, including:

1.         24-karat gold: This is pure gold and is the most malleable and ductile of all metals. It is too soft to be used in jewellery and is mainly used for investment purposes.

2.         22-karat gold: This gold alloy contains 91.7% gold and is commonly used in jewellery.

3.         18-karat gold: This gold alloy contains 75% gold and is commonly used in high-end jewellery.

4.         White gold: This gold alloy is a mixture of gold and white metals such as nickel, zinc, or palladium. It is often plated with rhodium to give it a shiny, silver-like appearance.

5.         Rose gold: This gold alloy is a mixture of gold and copper, giving it a pinkish hue.

American Indian

American Indian jewellery has a rich and diverse history that dates back thousands of years. Native American jewellery is known for its intricate designs, use of natural materials, and spiritual significance.

The types of jewellery produced by Native American artisans vary depending on the tribe and region. Some of the most common materials used in Native American jewellery include turquoise, coral, silver, gold, and animal bones.

Turquoise is particularly popular in Native American jewellery, and it has been used for centuries as a symbol of protection and good fortune. It is often set in silver, which was introduced to Native American jewellery-making by Spanish colonizers in the 16th century.
